WALLSEND | SHORTLAND
Faithful Stewardship of Our Parish Resources
The Parish Finance Council (PFC) assists the Parish Priest/Administrator in the responsible stewardship of the parish’s financial resources, property and material assets. In accordance with the requirements of the Catholic Church and the policies and procedures of the Diocese of Maitland–Newcastle, the Council provides advice, oversight and practical support in matters relating to parish finances, budgeting, expenditure, property, maintenance and long-term financial planning.
Supporting Our Two Communities
At Divine Mercy Parish Wallsend–Shortland, the Finance Council supports the mission of our two communities of St Patrick’s, Wallsend, and Our Lady of Victories, Shortland. Through careful planning, transparency and responsible stewardship, the Council seeks to ensure that the resources generously entrusted to our parish are managed wisely and sustainably.
A Sound Foundation for Our Mission
Its work helps provide a sound financial foundation so that Divine Mercy Parish can continue its worship, pastoral care, evangelisation, ministries and service to the wider community, while responsibly maintaining our parish properties and planning confidently for the future.
